Mr. Janko Franc Morgan is a very nice and likeable man. In his company we felt great and Janko Franc Morgan was giving us the impression that he is always one step ahead of the others. He was among first that decided for organic production and among first that offer additional products from the olives. For example, the olives in olive oil are of superior quality. You can find them in the category »with cheese«.
 
He explained about his early beginnings:


 
 
At the end of the 1990s he decided to plant olive trees on the land, which was owned by his family. They always had a few olive trees back in the history, so that they had enough oil for domestic use. In the surroundings of Grintovec (Slovenian Istria) Janko decided to plant olive trees, two quite large olive groves
with a total of 600 olive trees.

 

 
HARD WORK
He started all the work by himself. Abandoned terraces had to be cleaned and prepared for new olive groves. He split old logs of a much persisted old olive trees which after a winter frost still were able to bud new juvenile, he carefully raised them and then planted them. When juveniles were strong enough he grafted them into Istrian Belica. He also has plants that were grown in a tree nursery in his olive grove but he finds the olive trees grown from the logs more grateful. This year he planted a new olive grove with a Maurino type:

 
 
 
Janko Morgan's olive oil is mostly made of Istrian Belica, Leccino and some other sorts. His olive oil wears a label of protected designation of origin and the label of organic farming, which means that it is manufactured under well-defined conditions both for work in olive grove, for sort mix  and for processing the olives. It is all controlled by the relevant authorities.
 

Janko Morgan was the first  Slovenian oil producer who started produceing organic olive oil while at the same time this olive oil is a winner of a prize »The golden olive branch«, granted by Dosi (Association of Slovenian Istria olive growers).

DESCRIPTION OF THE FLAVOR          
Morgan olive oil is a natural and filtered. The taste is fresh and fruity, emphatically bitter and savory and medium-intensive. Typical fruity flavor that reminds of the olives, apples and fresh grass. The taste in the mouth is full and rounded, with harmonic tones of fresh vegetables and traces of the spices such us black pepper and vanilla.
With time oil becomes golden yellow, clear and more harmonious.
