PROFESSIONALISM IS WELCOME
Sometimes we find delicious product from small producer, but it does not have professional manager. Sometimes it is really hard to work with genuine local producers – farmers. Italians in particular. The biggest minus are the standards which they do not have. You try a product and you like it a lot, then the next time you try it this product doesn’t seem the same anymore – unfortunately it is a matter of producers’ bad or good day I guess. Jurij and I are constantly searching for tasty and natural food. On our trips, from mouth to mouth, on fairs… and in all that time we encountered all kinds of combinations in terms of quality and professionalism. And then we found Pralina. Pralina was created in 1991 by a group of young individuals who have a passion for good food and great experience in this field. They retain “home-made” feeling in their products, but they are on the other hand a company with high quality and hygiene standards. And that was what we liked, because it is all reflected on a taste. Their products have a real home-made taste – fresh, not too salty, natural, delicious. And a good thing is that you can rely on them – they maintain the quality.

CAPONATA
Is basically an Italian dish with eggplants. You can read more here. Jurij made it himself quite a few times, but whenever we tasted one from a store, it just didn’t taste right. But Pralina’s Caponata was just as home-made. It is made from locally grown vegetables, well greasy, tasty, just slightly spicy, and nice. I prefer to eat it on bread – great and healthy substitute for all salamis and boring cheese spreads. Vegetarians will love it. If you run out of time for lunch, you can have it as a quick side dish with chicken and/or potatoes; you can have it with pasta or add it to a salad. Or you can invite your friends over to corn crostini with caponata and a glass of a good red wine.
