Piccantello, like Pesto Barese is a product made according to the recipe of Mr. Felice, who comes from Bari (Apulia, Italy), more particularly, from a small town of Cassano delle Murge. He makes products according to old recipes and his products are really unique.

TRADITION

The agricultural farm Agroali was founded in 1970 on the high slopes of the »Murgia barese«. Its owner Mr. Felice Lanzolla carries on a family tradition by taking personal care of his products which are produced without any artificial additives, preservatives or colors. Even their land is cultivated without any pesticides. Products are made from extra virgin olive oil obtained from the first cold press of the family farm's olives. Agroali is among those farms which guarantee D.O.P.for their olive oil.

LANDSCAPE

Agroali farm is located in Cassano, which is 341m above sea level and can be described as the jewel in the heart of "Murge Barese". The area consists mainly of karsts’ rocks and red soil (terra rossa) and is characterized by the presence of various caves and sinkholes, especially in the area of Fungipendola. There are many forests, some of which are protected. Among them most famous is forest Mercadante, which is a few kilometers from the town Oasis, in the hilly area (DPGR n.1182 of 24/05/1985). Total area is about 1900 hectares large.
